REC Solar is our operating segment which produces downstream solar products, and is a fast-growing manufacturer of solar cells and solar modules. REC Solar started cell production on a quite small scale in 2003 in Narvik, Norway. Since then, REC has climbed to a top 15 ranking among global solar cell and module production companies, and is a leading player in Europe.

REC Solar today operates a integrated wafer, cell and module production plant in Tuas, Singapore.
Process efficiency and an increased focus on end-user needs are the most significant challenges in the downstream segment of the solar industry. REC Solar builds on the upstream scale and industry expertise of the REC value chain, with a focus on lean manufacturing in highly automated plants in order to realize cost reduction. Marketing initiatives that make solar an easier choice for end-users and a targeted involvement in system and project development are growing areas of focus for REC Solar.
